The American Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapter is excited to announce Tomi Youngblood as the Chair for the 2007 Clara Barton Society Campaign. Tomi, a local Red Cross Board member, has led many similar major giving campaigns before retiring as the Vice President of Government & Community Relations for Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Her service will be a major asset to this year’s Campaign Committee.

Tomi has received numerous awards for her civic involvement including the Order of the Silver Crescent, South Carolina’s highest award for volunteer and community service and the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest honor for lifetime achievement and service to the state.

Other community leaders who have joined the 2007 Clara Barton Society Campaign include former South Carolina Governor James Edwards and his wife Ann, who will be serving as Honorary Chairs. Former Clara Barton Society Chairs Gene Reed, James Bryan and Quince Cody will also serve on the Committee. These individuals will serve along with Tommy Baker, Sidney Boone, Mary Paige Carmody, Dayna Elliot, Anthony McAlister and Walter Seinsheimer.

The Clara Barton Society honors an individual’s total annual giving in support of the Carolina Lowcountry Chapter. Your support of the Red Cross with an annual contribution of $1,000 or more strengthens your local Chapter’s ability to respond to the relief, education and support needs of the community.

The goal for this year’s campaign is to raise $500,000 before the end of June. The Red Cross is asking you to join this group of community leaders by investing in the programs and services of your local Red Cross chapter. Donors who support the American Red Cross at one of the following levels within a given fiscal year become distinguished members of the Clara Barton Society:

• Leadership Club $50,000 - 100,000
• Benefactor's Club $25,000 - 49,999
• Pacesetter's Club $10,000 - 24,999
• Sponsor's Club $5,000 - 9,999
• Friend's Club $1,000 - 4,999
